Get It Together - More February Holidays from Alice

Oops, I really need to get organized... especially since it's National Time Management Month. This week, in addition to the always highly regarded (yet oh-so-main-stream) Presidents Day, we can also celebrate the unusual holidays that most of us have probably never heard of.

MORE MONTH-LONG HOLIDAYS
National Time Management Month
Creative Romance Month
Spunky Old Broads Month

THIS WEEK
February 14-21
Love A Mench Week
National Condom Week
International Friendship Week

INDIVIDUAL DATES
Feb 15
Love makes the world go 'round, but laughter keeps us from getting dizzy
National Gum Drop Day
Singles Awareness Day (in case you're not aware you are single)
Feb 16
Do a Grouch a Favor Day
International Pancake Day
Feb 17
My Way Day (is this different than any other day?)
Random Acts of Kindness Day
World Human Spirit Day
Feb 18
National Battery Day
Feb 19
National Chocolate Mint Day
Feb 20
Clam Chowder day
Cherry Pie Day
Hoodie Hoo Day
Love Your Pet Day
Introduce A Girl To Engineering Day
Feb 21
Card Reading Day

Not all the holidays are in tune with the love theme that has been running through the February dates, but most are linked, albeit sometimes very distantly. Also, I realize that a couple of the dates are very controversial, i.e.; Spunky Old Broads Day and Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day... (really? as if a girl wants to hear about engineering!) In all seriousness, although I haven't run across any that are similar for men, rest assured that I will be making some up if I don't find some soon and I welcome any and all suggestions and comments that would make up for the chauvinistic holidays listed.

I love comments and have tried commenting back, but Victoria has suspended my commenting privileges. Anyone who feels my commenting privileges should be re-instated, please write a blog. At the end, just leave her a note telling her you like my comments... maybe she'll reconsider.
Enjoy the holidays!
Much love,
Alice Pedersen Haddadin

  1. Time management month takes a whole month, just to get sufficiently organized that one can recognize any possibility of actually being in the time management groove!
Spunky Old Broad month...woohoo!!! This is ours, girls! Or definitely mine! Celebrate with me, we'll all drink margaritas at 8:00 p.m. daily the rest of the month!! T.

  2. Yay! I'm in for 8:00 p.m. margaritas! Plus, drinking and blogging could prove entertaining for all! Maybe this will be the new trend... or a source of embarrassment... either way, it's all good!

  4. Not a moment too soon! Now I can finally speak (or type) what's on my mind. I'll try to behave myself this time. :))
If no one posts any blogs, I'll just have to keep commenting on my own. It's a little like how I laught at my own jokes, LOL .. . LOL

  5. I personally think it was to soon, but perhaps that's because I never have liked the way Alice has come across to me. Granted it's been decades since I've even seen her, but old grudges die hard with me. So far it seems pretty much the same. But who am I to judge? I've been absent for a while but I'm back and I also like to say what's on my mind. Who knows maybe this will be fun! Or at the very least controversial.

  6. I hope that my last comment isn't taken seriously. I'm just playing devil's advocate and really mean no harm, and really don't have any problem with you whatsoever. I've been looking for your comments that got you in trouble and haven't found any yet. Were they removed? Or have I just not looked hard enough? I would like the margarita's one if I still drank. That's one thing I will miss from my old life. That and bloody marys. And really good scotch.

  7. Heck, Ali, I thought you were kidding that your commenting privileges were suspended. Love your holiday column! Jon just probably has bad memories of Alice the babysitter! Anyway, glad your privileges have been reinstated.
wow, can y'all believe Miss Alice is now 44???!!! (Yup, and that makes me waayyy older!)

  8. Actually, the 'suspended commenting privledges' was a joke. Alice has been having trouble commenting, even after tips I gave her. She put it in her post and I thought it was funny. Victoria

  9. I can comment, I just can't post. I have an email address that for some reason is 'rejected' by any of the blogs, etc I have tried to 'join'. (Is that what it is called?) and I have instructions on how to set up a gmail or something account, but it makes no sense at all to me; perhaps soonish my schedule and Kam's (and his patience or willingness to help me) will mesh and we can make this thing work! 10. I'm glad you've gotten over my past cruelties Jonathan; "time heals all wounds," no? Now we can move on and make new ones! Like Terry telling the world i'm 44. You are so funny Terry, that would male you... gosh, I don't know- older than me!! Haha, let's just leave it at that. I should have my computer back soon. No more awkward silences or tedious text comments. Although I love that my lack of response led Jonathan to add he was kidding. ;))

  11. I'm looking forward to the other holidays for the rest of the year. A few more like Margaritas and old broads, it could be quite lifechanging! Not to mention that I may be more organized! Don't worry about your age, Ali girl, when I was 44 my 'baby' had only been weaned and potty trained for a year!! Then I became a granny!Life is good! T.
